ProPatria Executive Director, Harry Prihartono, reminded that this committee be fully controlled by Indonesia.

“The place to be used for training is owned by us,” he said during a discussion yesterday (22/5).

Harry suggested that in addition to the Defense Department, the Foreign Affairs Department and the Indonesian Military (TNI), other parties such as the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Assembly (DPD), must be involved in the committee.

According to Major General Dadi Susanto, Director General of Defense Strategy, the composition of people included in the committee is not yet decided.

“What is certain is that the elements are the Defense Department, the Foreign Affairs Department and the TNI,” said Dadi.

According to him, the spirit of this agreement is good will and equality.

If there are problems regarding this agreement, they will be reported to respective ministers.

“Unless there are criminal violations, they will be solved based on Indonesia's jurisdiction,” said Dadi.

According to Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono, the implementation of this agreement will involve other departments including the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Department and the Environment Ministry.

Arief Havas Oegroseno, Director of International Territorial Security Political Agreements at the Foreign Affairs Department, said that regarding the defense agreement, Singapore was willing to comply with Indonesia's law during military training in Indonesia.
