West Sumatra's Exports Down 6.35 Percent

West Sumatra's exports fell in value 6.35 percent to US$2.21 billion in 2013 from US$2.36 billion in the previous year.

West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno said in presenting the 2015 draft budget of the province here on Wednesday in 2014, the export value is expected to increase.

"A rising trend had been indicated in the second quarter of 2014 when exports surged 26.9 percent from the same period in 2013," Irwan said.

Meanwhile a member of the regional legislative assembly Yulman Hadi said he hoped exports could increase in 2014 to contributed to regional income. (antara)
