TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The investigative team for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has already sent a summons to debtor, Syamsul Nursalim. AGO's Investigative Director, Muhammad Salim, said that the summons for asking for information was sent last week.
“The summons was addressed to his house. Because that's the only address I know,” Salim told reporters, in Jakarta, Monday (14/1).
Salim explained that the summons was sent so that Sjamsul Nursalim be present on January 17. He did not want to speculate about Sjamsul's presence in the AGO's Building. “The investigators only summoned him. Whether or not he will come, I cannot guarantee,” he said.
It is planned that Sjamsul Nursalim will be asked to make statements regarding the case of BLBI which was disbursed in 1997, worth Rp37 trillion to Bank Dagang Negara Indonesia (BDNI). After the bank was declared as terminating operations in 1998, the Supreme Audit Agency's (BPK) audit result stated that the disbursed state money totaled Rp49.189 trillion.
However, after the auditor Price-Waterhouse Cooper calculated the company's assets and submitted this to BPPN in 2000, the amount was only Rp1.4 trillion. Then, after being sold, the assets were worth Rp1.8 trillion.
